A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 43 mm (1.7 inches) across. The ammonite is well preserved on one side with matrix on the the other and it has highly detailed suture lines, ribbing, and spine tubercles. These are very popular ammonites. It has been sealed with a removable varnish for protection.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
