A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 105 mm (4.1 inches) across with matrix, which is huge for this fossil type. The ammonite is well preserved on both sides with highly detailed suture lines, ribbing, and spines. The centres are exposed on both sides, which is hard to find with this species at this size. These are very popular ammonites. It has been sealed with a removable varnish for protection.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
