A highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 19 mm (0.75 inches) across, The ammonite is well preserved on both sides with detailed suture lines and ribbing. It is unusually distorted with the outer whorl crushed inwards towards the centre of the shell. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
