A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 24mm (0.95 inches) across, which is a good size for this species. The ammonite shell is very well preserved with great detail in the ribbing. It has a beautiful pyritic metallic shine. This one is as good as it gets!
These pyrite ammonites have long been used to create natural jewellery and look amazing in the flesh.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
