A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 39mm (1.55 inches) across, which is very large for this species, and is very well preserved with great detail in the ribbing and perfect centres on both sides. It has a beautiful pyritic metallic shine.
These little pyrite ammonites have long been used to create natural jewellery and look amazing in the flesh.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
