A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.

The fossil measures 96 mm (3.78 inches) across, which is huge for this fossil type. The ammonite is well preserved on both sides and has a beautiful metallic iron pyrite colour and shine. One side of the ammonite has several other smaller ammonites preserved on it. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs. These large examples are especially uncommon these days.

Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
