A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 28 mm (1.1 inch) across, which is large for this species. The ammonite shell is very well preserved with great detail in the ribbing and suture lines. It is clean to the centre on one side with some crystalline pyrite on the other. It has a beautiful pyritic metallic shine.
These pyrite ammonites have long been used to create natural jewellery and look amazing in the flesh.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
