A stunning example of an ammonite fossil of the species Promicroceras planicosta from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Lyme Regis, Dorset UK.

The piece of limestone matrix measures 125 mm (4.9 inches) across and contains two fossil ammonites that measure 31 and 25 mm. The ammonites are interestingly preserved on top of one another and have been prepared out of the rock to reveal the shell details. The ribs are finely defined, and the mixed yellow, grey and mottled brown colours is beautiful.

A great example of the species and impressive in the flesh. These calcite ammonites make great unique gifts for the nature lover in your life! The fossil weighs 640 grams and has a cut flat base to allow it to stand freely for display.

Around 196 million years old (Sinemurian, Early Jurassic), this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
