A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 26 mm (1 inch) across, which is a good size for this species, and is very well preserved on both sides with great detail in the ribbing. It has a beautiful pyritic metallic shine and a pin-prick sized hole in the very centre.
These little pyrite ammonites have long been used to create natural jewellery and look amazing in the flesh.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
