A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 14 mm (0.55 inches) across. The ammonite shell is perfectly preserved to the centre on one side, with a smaller partial ammonite on the other, and with great detail in the ribbing. It has a beautiful pyritic metallic shine.
These pyrite ammonites have long been used to create natural jewellery and look amazing in the flesh.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
