A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.

The fossil measures 60 mm (2.32 inches) across with matrix. The ammonite is well preserved on both sides with highly detailed suture lines, ribbing, and spines. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs. These large examples are especially uncommon these days. It has been sealed with a removable varnish for protection. It is a chunky and heavy ammonite, weighing 80 grams.

Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
