A stunning and huge example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.

The fossil measures 101 mm (4 inches) across with matrix, which is very large for this fossil type. The ammonite is well preserved in a pyrite matrix made up of the outer whorl of the shell and has a beautiful metallic iron pyrite colour and shine. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs. These large examples are especially uncommon these days and are very sought after.

Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
