A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 58 mm (2.35 inches) across. The ammonite is well preserved in a pyrite matric and has a bronzy pyritic colour and shine. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
