A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 59 mm (2.33 inches) across. The suture lines are clearly visible and very striking. The ribs are well defined and it has a wonderful golden colour and shine. The specimen has many of the rare spines still preserved, making it an unusual example. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs. This one is a real beauty and as close to perfect as this species gets.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
