A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 48 mm (1.88 inches) across with which is very large for this species. The ammonite is very well-preserved on both sides with detailed ribbing, suture lines and the many of the sought after spines still intact on one side. There is some minor crushing on the inner whorls. The golden colour and shine is beautiful. A great example of the species. These ammonites are becoming much harder to find these days due to lack of erosion of the right layers of rock.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection
