A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 48 mm (1.88 inches) across. The ammonite is beautifully preserved on both sides, unusually so for this species. The suture lines are clearly visible and very striking. The ribs are well defined and it has a wonderful golden colour and shine. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs. This one is a real beauty.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
