A stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.The fossil measures 55 mm (2.16 inches) across with matrix, which is very large for this species and fossil type. The ammonite is well preserved with great details in the spines and a small bivalve preserved on the main shell. The ribs are very finely defined and it has a nice golden metallic shine. A great example of the species. These ammonites are becoming much harder to find these days due to lack of erosion of the right layers of rock.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection
