A stunning and large example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Eoderoceras (Eteoderoceras) armatum from the world-famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.
The fossil measures 90 mm (3.5 inches) across, which is large for this species. The ammonite is beautifully preserved on both sides with part of the outer whorl missing and a second smaller ammonite in the centre of the larger one. A great example of the species that has nice suture lines and a lovely metallic colour and shine. These ammonites are becoming harder to find these days. This one is a real beauty.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection
